Scientists from all domains of qualitative social research are cordially invited to visit the Research Data Day (RDD) on June 11, 2025 at Bremen University. This event will be organised by the member institutions of the U Bremen Research Alliance and provide insights into proven methods and specific challenges associated with handling research data.
Participation to the RDD is free of cost. Diverse information stands, workshops and lectures about research data management will be present on the campus of Bremen University.

The research data centre (RDC) Qualiservice will be present from 10-15 Uhr with an information stand in the „Glaskasten“ at the Boulevard (vis-à-vis of SuUB). Here, we will  inform you about the services of the RDC Qualiservice and offer personal discussion about the preconditions for preparing and archiving of qualitative research data for scientific reuse.

Moreover, Qualiservice will provide the following programme contributions:

From 11 -11:45 a.m. , a lecture on the topic Sharing Qualitative Research Data with Qualiservice will take place at SuUB. It will inform about legal, methodical and ethical issues and challenges related to the preparation of qualitative data types (e.g. interview transcripts, observation protocols, ethnographic materials, audiovisual data). In order to provide qualitative research data for scientific reuse, their contextualisation by a study report and extensive metadata is crucial, which are available online at www.qualiservice.org.

From 12 – 2 p.m. a practical Workshop about anonymisation/pseudonymisation of textual research data will be offered at the SuUB. Anonymisation requires a balance between the conflicting goals of protecting personal data and enabling scientific re-use by preserving the relevant information contents. This is enabled by the Qualiservice concept of flexible anonymisation and can be implemented with the tool QualiAnon. The workshop introduces to basics of anonymisation and into the use and functions of QualiAnon.
