New version of the anonymization tool QualiAnon released

QualiAnon is a tool for the anonymization or pseudonymization of text data and is provided by Qualiservice free of charge. It was developed with the aim of implementing the Qualiservice anonymization concept of “flexible anonymization” (doi: 10.26092/elib/2525) in such a way that qualitative data can be processed in compliance with data protection regulations while at the same time preserving as much relevant social scientific information as possible.

QualiAnon version 1.5.0 has been released and includes new functions. For example, the display of texts has been optimized and when importing documents it is possible to set whether lines should be automatically wrapped after a selectable number of characters or whether the line and paragraph breaks of the original file should be retained.

Another new feature is that QualiAnon 1.5.0 uses the Java17 version. This improves the performance of QualiAnon. At the same time, Java17 enables access to the latest and better protected Java libraries, which further optimizes QualiAnon's security standards compared to the previous Java8 version.
