Cooperation between Qualiservice and the Specialised Information Service for Social and Cultural Anthropology extended for a further three years (2025-2027)

The Qualiservice Research Data Centre (FDZ) receives further DFG funding. This will allow the extensive range of services for ethnological subjects and the archiving options for ethnographic research materials to be further expanded.

The DFG recently approved a further funding period for the Specialised Information Service for Social and Cultural Anthropology (FID SKA) for the years 2025 to 2027. This recognises the intensive collaboration between the Qualiservice Research Data Centre (FDZ) and the University Library of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the development of a comprehensive range of services and an appropriate archiving environment for the ethnological disciplines and enables their further development.

In the area of research data management, the goal remains the continuous further development of procedures for archiving and re-using ethnographic research materials as well as the expansion of subject-specific advice and training formats at Qualiservice. In particular, the re-use of archived material is to be given greater focus in the future. Networking with the relevant consortia of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) remains a further focus.

The approval and scope of the funding pave the way for the transition of the FID SKA from 2028 to the new FIDplus programme line, which was already approved in September 2024 and will allow applications for a longer research period.
