Cooperation between Qualiservice and the Political Science Information Service (FID Pollux)
The research data center Qualiservice will be funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for three years as a partner of the Political Science Information Service (FID Pollux).
Since 2016, the Political Science Information Service (FID Pollux) has been jointly operated by the Bremen State and University Library (SuUB) and GESIS - Leibnitz Institute for the Social Sciences. Within two funding phases, the research portal Pollux was expanded to become the central reference system for political science information in Germany.
As a result of the project partnership with Qualiservice, qualitative research data will be integrated into the Pollux research portal during the third funding phase. Thus, a subject-specific contact and consulting point for the archiving and secondary use of qualitative political science research data will be established. To ensure the archiving and secondary use of typical qualitative political science research data such as expert interviews and documents, subject-specific workflows for curating qualitative data will be developed and tested in "use studies". Research data management tools for sharing qualitative data (templates, handouts) will be developed to support researchers. Expertise in research data management and data sharing of qualitative research data will be taught to political scientists via workshops and webinars as well as project-related individual consultations.
